Tasks First Mode is a Freckle Premium Edition feature. Learn more
In Freckle, pupils have the option to practise on their own or complete tasks given to them by their teacher. Tasks First Mode allows teachers to ensure that pupils complete their work on tasks before practising anything on their own.
Here is how it works:
- To turn on Tasks First Mode, select your name in the upper-right corner of the page and select Your Account.
- On the Product Settings tab of Your Account page, select Tasks First Mode:
You can also activate this mode by ticking Tasks First Mode on the Tasks page.
With Tasks First Mode enabled, pupils will not be able to practise on their own until they finish all of their tasks. When they try to go in and practise on their own, they will see a pop-up prompting them to finish their tasks first:
Once pupils finish their tasks, they will be free to practise on their own as before.
Tasks First Mode is teacher-specific. For example:
Pupil Jason Garvey logs in to Freckle, and chooses between two classes: C. Hastin's (where Tasks First Mode is enabled) and A. Serrano's (where it is not).
If Jason chooses Hastin's class, he will not be able to practise on his own until he either (a) finishes all of his tasks in Hastin's class or (b) leaves Hastin's class by logging out and then logging back in to Serrano's class.
