Access Your Pupil's QR Codes
Every pupil on Freckle has a QR code. You can access them by doing the following:
- Sign in to your teacher account at classroom.freckle.com.
- Select Class List in the left navigation bar.
- Use the Jump to Class drop-down list to select one of your classes.
- On the screen for that class, select Print login cards.
- Your login cards have your pupil's QR codes. Print them out to use them.
Signing In with a QR Code
- Go to student.freckle.com and select the QR code button at the bottom.
- If you have not enabled your webcam on your Chromebook or other computer, you will need to do that first. If you are on an iPad, you will not need to do this step. Instead, you will be asked to open your camera.
Each browser looks a little different but in general, you will need to select Allow when it appears near the top of the page.

If your have pupil passwords enabled, you will be prompted to enter your pupil password.
How Do I Enable My Webcam?
Using pupil mode on Chromebooks or other computers requires you to grant your browser access to your computer's webcam. If you have accidentally blocked access to the webcam, do not worry—it is easy to re-enable access. Follow the instructions for your browser below.
On Chrome
Granting access to the camera:
- When you visit https://studentmode.classdojo.com, a tooltip should appear in the upper-left of your screen asking to use your camera. Select Allow.
If you hit block by mistake:
You know you have hit block by mistake if you see this page:
- At the right side of the address bar, select the small icon that looks like a camera.
- Select the Always allow option.
- Refresh the page.
If you do not see the icon mentioned above or those instructions do not work:
- In the upper-right corner of the screen, select the three-dot menu and choose Settings.
- Select Show advanced settings.
- In the "Privacy" section, select Content settings.
- Scroll down until you see the "Camera" section.
- Select Manage exceptions.
- Select the X next to "studentmode.classdojo.com:443" to remove it from the list.
- Refresh the page.
- When you are asked for permission again, select Allow.
On Microsoft Edge
We do NOT actively support Microsoft Edge. It may not work properly.
Granting access to the camera:
- A tooltip should appear at the bottom of your screen asking to use your webcam. Select Yes.
- You will need to repeat this process every time you open the site.
If you accidentally close the tooltip:
- Refresh your page.
- When you are asked for permission again, select Yes.
On Firefox
Granting access to the camera:
- Just like in Chrome, a tooltip should appear in the upper-left corner of your screen asking to use your camera. Select Allow.
If you accidentally close the tooltip or select Do Not Allow:
- Refresh your page.
- You will be asked for permission again.
On Safari
Unfortunately, pupil mode does not support the Safari browser. Please install Google Chrome or Firefox.
On Internet Explorer
Unfortunately, Freckle does not support the Internet Explorer browser. Please install Google Chrome or Firefox.
