Who can do this with default user permissions?
Teachers
Maths has different practice modes available to pupils. You can customise the pupil dashboard settings to restrict which practice modes are available for individual pupils or entire classes.
- Log into Freckle.
- On the home page, select Class List in the left navigation bar.
- Select a class on the Your Class List page. In the list of pupils in the class,
- To customise the setting for a specific pupil, select Default in the Pupil Settings column for that pupil.
- To customise the setting all pupils in the class, select Default in the Pupil Settings column for any pupil.
- You will see the Dashboard Settings tab of the Edit Pupil page. Select the arrowhead to the left of Maths Settings to open the Maths Settings section, if necessary.
- The practice modes available to the class are listed at the top. Select a mode to change its availability: a mode outlined in blue is available, a mode outlined in grey is not. You can also use Select All to select all the modes or Select Defaults to select only the default practice modes for the class (based on the year of the pupils in the class).
- Once you have made your changes, select either Apply to all Year [X] pupils in class (to give the same access to practice modes to all pupils in the class) or Apply Pupil Settings (if you want the settings to apply only to the specific pupil from step 3a).
When the specific pupil (or all pupils in the class you were working with) log in, they will only see the practice modes you have given them access to. On the Your Roster page, students who are restricted to specific practice modes will have Custom in the Pupil Settings column instead of Default; selecting either one will get you back to the Dashboard Settings tab of the Edit Pupil page.
You can further refine maths availability by restricting students' access to specific maths domains: see "How do I restrict the maths domains or operations students will see on their dashboards?" for instructions.
